zymox otic hc for ear infection?

Has anyone tried Zymox Otic HC for your cat's ear infection?  I wondered if it works as good as the meds (Tresaderm) from the vet?  Just curious for future reference if she needs ear treatment again.

Hi all, I just started my Cassie on Zymox two days ago. She was treated by our vet for a yeast infection in her ears, which cleared up after about 10 days. She was then re-checked and cleared of any yeast and sent home with some regular ear clearner. But the next day, she was still shaking her head and scratching! A friend who is a vet suggested we put her on an antihistamine (5 mg of Zyrtec once a day) and try Zymox.

Two days in, I have succeeded in getting Zymox in her ears, somewhat on her head, and all over my husband   I don't know if its more of the Zyrtec or the Zymox, but she is definitely shaking her head less and I haven't seen her scratch yet today. Going to continue the Zymox for at least one week (maybe two?) and probably the Zyrtec indefinitely. I would love to hear of anyone else's experiences as this is new for us as kitty parents.
