Went from UTI to Lymphoma - What do I do???

Our 1 year old male cat Waffles had bloody urine and difficulty urinating, so we took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with FLUTD and the vet wanted to do a urinlaysis to be sure, as he was ultrasounding the bladder for the urine, he caught a glimpse of his kidney and said we should do an abdominal ultrasound. The results were not good... According to the vet and the pictures he showed us, he's got a large thick black ring around his kidney, his intestinal muscles are 2x what they should be in width, and his lymph nodes have black in them on the ultrasound pictures. All of this indicates lymphoma according to the vet but he wants to wait a week before we do the biopsy so we can get a definitive result since it's almost $1K to do that procedure. 

The breeder I got Waffles from (ragdoll) has never ahd this issue in 9 years of breeding and is thinking our vet is scamming us... I don't know what to think and I want to get a second opinion the pictures and I will, but I just, I'm so exhausted from crying and worrying. Has anyone else gone through this and had similar results on their ultrasound that can weigh in? Please???

Oh he pants a lot, but has no other symptoms like weight loss, lethargy or loss of appetite. Just the urine issues.

I, have read a LOT of health thread here on TCS, and never once recall reading about an ultra sound like this.   That doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but I've just never read about it. 

Let's hope it's a mistake.  Is this a Vet you've used and trusted  in the past?  Whether or not it is, there is certainly nothing wrong with getting a second opinion.  



Oh, and if it IS Lymphoma,  whether it's large cell or small cell, treatment for cats is available....even chemo, which cats seem to tolerate better than humans.
