Former feral/stray Joey had an appointment this morning to be vaccinated for rabies and distemper and get microchipped. As far as I know Joey has not been picked up by anyone but me. He hides or runs away from visitors and neighbours. DH can pet him but has not picked him up. Joey is a big strong cat so I got a sedative to mix in his breakfast and of course he wouldn't touch it. He got very little for supper the night before and still wouldn't eat this morning so the stuff must smell to him.
We went anyway and I needn't have worried, he was very, very good. He didn't feel a thing, ate some treats and even had a wee play with a catnip toy. What a good little boy. Big boy, he weighed 12 pounds, not huge but a good size and a good weight for his build. I think the Vet was pleased and liked him, he stuffed the catnip toy into the crate to go home with Joey.
