We have been feeding Elsa Nutro perfect portions ever since we've had her. She especially likes the tuna and salmon flavors. I just saw someone on another forum recently state that it's not good to give cats too much fish. We do you occasionally alternate turkey or chicken into the mix. But fish is definitely her favorite. Is there any problem feeding mostly fish?

I guess I'm relying on Nutro to provide the needed nutrition in their wet cat foods, including in the tuna/salmon variety. But I will alternate more chicken and turkey with the daily feedings.

Thank you!

You can't rely on a pet food manufacturer to make sure your animal is going to be healthy. They're in the business to make money. If they can put corn in food, which cats don't utilize, instead of meat, then they get to save money, more profits in their pockets.

There are just a handful of companies that actually DO care about the health of your animal.

I started my cats off on Nutro Natural Choice because they have low carbs & there are quite a few different varieties, but my one cat developed runny poop so I had to switch to something different. Nutro isn't a bad food, just stop feeding daily fish. I give my cats fish about once a week.

Well, I looked up the ingredients list for the Salmon/Tuna Nutro food, and it does contain quite a bit more than just salmon and tuna. (See below.)  I think I will be alternating other flavors of Nutro Perfect Portions, but will keep the Tuna/Salmon as a part of her dietl

Salmon, Chicken, Chicken Broth, Chicken Liver, Tuna, Pork Broth, Natural Flavors, Guar Gum, Minerals (Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, Calcium Carbonate, Zinc Sulfate, Iron Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Potassium Iodide, Copper Sulfate), Sodium Phosphate, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols), Carrageenan, Vitamins (Choline Chloride, Thiamine Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Vitamin E Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex [Source of Vitamin K Activity]), Salt, Taurine.

@Dewaine, don't worry, the Nutro food will provide balanced meals--in terms of vitamins, minerals, and the like--for Elsa. I'm not a fan of fish, either, (we had a cat who pretty much got addicted to fish; we didn't know that wasn't good) but it's definitely a plus that this food also has a fair bit of chicken in it. If you're able to rotate in lots of non-fish flavors, all the better. Our cats love Nutro's minced chicken, chunky chicken, and sliced turkey so would definitely recommend those!
