Hiya. Ludo is 13 weeks and in generally good health. For about 5 days however he experienced mild diarrhoea and lack of appetite but was otherwise fine, perhaps a bit less energetic.

We realised his poorly tummy was caused by him mainly only licking the gravy off his food after we tried a new brand. We switched back to a jelly food and now his appetite is perfect and stools are too. Was glad to find it wasn't a true appetite issue, just a silly picky kitty.

Anyway, he's been eating normally for about 2 days. I come home this evening and he's fine, bursting with energy, but when I say with him I felt his belly was noticeably bigger, rounder and firm.

All logic dictates that it's probably because he is full and keeping it in for the first time in about a week, so it feels sudden to me but is normal. But I worry!! Once upon a time we had a stray who, retrospectively we believe had wet FIV. Her belly was so big I instantly panic with this!!! Even though that grew over weeks and weeks.

We have a vet appt. scheduled this weekend anyway. I will be logical and only move it forward if he noticeably changes or has any other symtoms. Have you any advice of what else to look out for? Or some words of comfort that it's probably him just scoffing food!!

Apologies, I cannot believe how crazy about this little guys health I've been. I will be a nightmare when I eventually have kids [emoji]128517[/emoji]

Your kitten might  have worms which is causing the hard bloated belly. It's not uncommon for kittens to have some sort of worm. The vet will be able to prescribe a deworming treatment for your kitten.
