Puerto Rico... land of rice and beans.
Folks, I found a site that takes name origins. http://www.women.com/games/namefinder

Now, don't start! I know its a "women" site, but it has also male names.

About VÃ:censor:ctor it says:

Victor, a 2-syllable boy's name of Latin origin, means: Victorious; a conqueror.

Victor's ethnic backgrounds include Russian, Swiss, French and Hispanic. Entertainers with this name include Victor Borge (Television). Historical figures with this name include Victor Hugo (Art/Literature). It has religious backgrounds in Saints.

As it is the custom in the Hispanic world, I have two first names. My second first name is Herminio. But it says it wasn't listed.

So... I am "The conqueror", or "Victorious"! I like that!

Interesting thread!

Hedi, I love your name!!
I'm sure your name has some sort of family background as does mine coming from German Ancestry! Right?

Margaret , a 3-syllable girl's name of Greek origin, means: A pearl.

I was named a after my German Grandmother who passed away when my father was only 4 years old!!! I think she spelled it different though - I'll have to aks my Dad again for sure.

P.S. My Dad calls me Gretel and I love it!!
He's the only person who can call me that though - it's his nickname for me!
