I have a couple questions on a couple behaviors; one is very endearing, the other not so much.

Tiki the Cat is about a 1 ¼ to 1 ½ years old, he was a semi-feral stray when he adopted me, and every night he “tucks me in” by kneading on my chest. He will jump up on the bed then walks with this concrete feet across me to make sure I’m awake then kneads on my chest while I rub his neck until he thinks I’m asleep, then he sneaks off the bed like a little ninja. What concerns (?) me is that he is spending less and less time doing this and even skips a night now and then. That is just him getting older and nothing to worry about right?

The real thing that worries me is his nipping. I’ve read everything I can find and watched all the YouTube videos, but they don’t seem to match what I see. I can be sitting in my chair reading and Tiki will come sit by the chair, then with no warning he’ll reach up, grab my arm with his paws and gnaw on my arm. I’ve been able to convince him not to use his claws, but I can’t get him to stop biting. I may be imaging this but it seems like he doesn’t want to bite hard often he just licks or uses the little love bites, but other times he seems to lose control and starts biting hardish (enough to break the skin. I get that sometime cats nip at you when they are done being petted if they get grabbed or something like that, but this seems different.

Any help or just re-assurance would be appreciated :)

and here he is right before pouncing (not really but this is what he usually looks like before pouncing)

I think the gnawing is a sign of affection and also a cry for attention. Pet him or start playing with a toy when he does that. Both my cats do it; one more than the other.

Mingo gave up on sleeping with me too for a long time after I first got him. He didn't like my tossing and turning in the bed. But in the last few months, he's taken to waiting, in the room, for me to go to sleep, then he hops up in the bed and curls up in the crook of my knees. I never  thought he would sleep with me, so I am very happy he does. Give your cat some time, and maybe he will come back, too.

thanks :)

I've tried playing with him or rubbing his neck when he tries to gnaw on me, but he doesn't seem interested in that either...half the time he chomps on my arm then slowly walks over to his spot in front the TV, plops himself down completely ignoring me.

Any chance it is frustration from being converted from a outdoor stray/feral to a (spoiled) indoor only cat?
