I have seen this with Pixie a couple months ago where she had very smelly diarrhea and the tests came back negative too. Then again, when she was heavily infested with roundworms as a kitten, test came back negative though there was a big visible worm in.

Now it's Minou. Of the 5 times i have seen him poop the past month (outside and in), 4 of those poops where yellowish diarrheas. They smell like despair. The farts are impressively smelly too.
The one time he did a solid stool was the night i kept him inside after having him TNRed 2 weeks ago.
He was just inside and was sitting and i noticed a little something the size of a pea on the floor when he moved away. It was poop. Then he cried in the kitchen as if to go out, but went in the box instead. And right before he produced another smelly diarrhea, he yowled real loudly.

He had just eaten and his appetite seems ok. I have no idea if he eats elsewhere or if he still hunts small creatures. He is inside just half hours 2 times a day for introduction sessions with Pixie (through doors)

I have been giving him Florentero (probiotics) in his food for a week, but something he pushes the paste aside and doesn't eat it. His food, Taste of the wild, contains probiotics too.

So what should i do? There's only so much i can do with a limited budget (i just spent hundreds on Pixie's vaccines, the test for Minou, a tall cat tree, shelves, and big bags of food this week so far) and the vet says to watch him to see if it passes. But it seems he has been gassy for weeks.

He has had his shots when TNRed, but no wormer was given since he has just had a dose of Revolution 2 weeks prior. He is due for another dose by the end of this week.

Minou came out of his shelter this morning with vapors of flatulence surrounding him. He hardly ate his breakfast.
I have boiled chicken and rice and he seems to enjoy it now. Hope it helps and it's just a digestive upset and not a hidden bacteria.

I am thinking coccidia.. it is a difficult parasite to find in the poop sample. Sometimes you can have a negative specimen and still have it.

You do need to have treatment for it. Sorry, but best to take a stool sample to the Vet and get the appropriate treatment.

I know how expensive they can be. This morning I spent over $300 dollars for a visit with an Internal Medicine Vet; blood tests; and a new prescription for Artie....

It does hurt the wallet.. but if we love our kitties, we have to really take care of them.

Unfortunately, we are not Vets, and even if we were, we could not diagnose and advise treatment over the internet...

Good Luck..

I already brought a stool sample and it came back negative. The vet told me to give him a bland diet (which i am doing) and see if it helps.

Quick update; Minou had produced another diarrhea regardless of the bland diet, so the vet will prepare fenbendazole for him.
I hope it comes in a yummy chicken flavor....

Panacur and safe guard are the same thing too. He might be thinking it's giardia if he's going the fen route. Alot of times it won't show up on a fecal float and an Elisa test is needed. If ya want to up your chances of getting rid off whatever this is then you might want to instigate a quarantine and clean procedure. Get a cheap liter box, pan liners, disposable dishes, and an antibacterial cat shampoo. Confine him to a room during his treatment and change out the litter and liner ever day. Change out the food and water bowl. And wash you kitty's hind area every day as well. Protozoa are sticky creatures and like to cling. You don't want to have him reinfecting himself during his treatment.

Elisa! I was searching my brain for that earlier.
My vet did mention giardia and said fenben is a large spectre thing that will hopefully treat what he has. I have not spoken to her directly after i found the new poop, but she will be there tomorrow. I'm just glad she offered to prescibe it without seeing him first.

Minou is a feral cat. The longest he has been in was 2 hours. I can't handle him yet so i don't think he would let me clean his bum but i can do the litter and bowl thing, yeah. Thanks for the tip!

Fen is amazing. No problem. You might be able to spray his butt with some vinegar if ya can't scrub it. The main thing is to stop them from licking back there and reintroducing it into their system. No cat in their right mind would lick a vinegar covered hinny!
