Hi, I have a 8yr old Siamese domestic mix named Lulu. She' s always been crosseyed and slept a lot.Lately though I noticed she is getting slightly skinnier because she wont eat as much. She sleeps almost all day and night.Again shes always been a very sedate cat but I was wondering if her sleeping soo much is just a natural process of ageing.I m not sure how good her eye-sight is either.I used to be able to pet her and she saw my hand coming, now i move my hand slower and pet her ans she gets spooked because she doesnt seem to see it coming.I think she can see shapes but I m not sure if shes able to differenciate between far and near. She is avoiding high places, like the kitchencounter.I guess its too high but she still manages to get up on my bed( which is very tall) and the couch. She used to play a little with toys or my other cats but now shes just happy to isolate herself from me and any cats in the house. She looks healthy though. So I guess I m just worried I lose her because shes aging. Is all of this behaviour normal when cats get older? Am I worried for no reason? I even check her for lumps, since shes mostly white and I read that white animals are more prone to lympnode cancer and Leukemia.Everything on her feels normal and touching her doesnt seem to hurt her she just dont like being petted.
