Hi.....I have a wee 5month old Kitten (FIV+) the Vets are quite sure that this is a correct diagnosis due to several factors, enlarged lymph nodes, low weight 1100grams, poor appetite,  etc.      I was asked by the Vets to care for this wee gal (orange tabby in picture)...."palliative-care".  I am asking for any help/suggestions for food to feed her.  Currently....I cook chicken thighs, (pureed) and add KMR, and baby iron-fortified cereal.....plus Iams kitten dry soaked with warm water. .......she is not putting any weight on.....(will gain a little, than have a bad day....and loses it).   She is an adorable wee gal, full of personality and purrs constantly....loves to snuggle ....and generally seems to enjoy life.   Thanks so much

Poor kitten :( The cooking meat sounds good, but if you want to cook for her you should really add a supplement, especially because she's so young and needs those vitamins and minerals. What about using EZcomplete? Perhaps look at some other higher quality canned foods like Ziwipeak, Instinct, Feline Natural, or even Weruva. I wouldn't soak kibble as it can lead to bacteria growth and you don't want to introduce anything like that to a kitten with a compromised immune system. You might also look at cooking some other foods higher in fat like pork.
