Hello, after some lurking around I decided to sign up having recently adopted a cat that was no longer able to be cared for. I hope I'll have a fair time here and learn plenty!

This is Pelhi, born July 2015 and brought into our care this past week. I'm afraid being something of an amateur I may be asking questions too often, haha. Luckily my partner has had cats of her own for years but as she is mostly busy it seems I've become primary care giver. Anything anyone would want to know, fire away.

Welcome! Cats are easy, dogs are difficult. Just make sure there's food, clean water, a box full of litter & that's pretty much the basics!

Thank you very much. I've been doing my best to keep on top of it and it does seem to be going well so far, here's hoping it stays that way.

Welcome to TCS [emoji]128522[/emoji]

For an amateur, you and Pelhi seem to be getting along quite well! Cats are pretty easy to care for as msserena msserena mentioned. Treat them well and they will reward you will lots of love and joy.

Here's a link to one TCS article you may find useful:

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever have and questions or concerns. Thank you for taking Pehli in [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

Ah, thank you for the warm welcome! Glad to hear I'm doing something right. And thank you for the article link. I'll be referring back to it a lot I think. Good to know plenty of folks are keen to help too! With any luck most of what I put here will be minor issues.

Hi seaside,
When I was new to this site I found it really helpful.
I've had my cat for 3 months now & ive learnt so much. You will soon know what Pelhi likes & dislikes. Be prepared though to give your house up to your cat, a perfect saying is that a cat owns you, you don't own a cat. This is in a really good way though, you will totally & utterly fall in love with Pelhi & love every minute of it.

Thanks flojo, I'm already making quick paces it seems thanks to some teaching about the site. Learning about her preferred food is quite interesting, I might toss up a blog to detail my adventures in cat care. And yes, she seems to be making her rounds about the house at her leisure already.
