Hi everyone!

I'm not exactly sure where to post this so I thought Cat Health would be the best option perhaps. It's not an emergency, as Espa is doing okay, but more of a sort of question mark sort of thing.

About a month ago or so, Espa, my 7 month old kitten, had her first hairball. Instantly, we tried to take measures to prevent this, such as brushing her more often, and buying cat grass. The seeds we bought was Petlinks Nibble-Licious Cat Grass Seeds, and we got organic soil to plant it with.

Now, before the cat grass, Espa peed around 4-5 times at night, then about the same amount through the rest of the day, and pooped 1-2 times a day. It should be noted that she was eating Purina Kitten Chow. One day, which was about a week before she was able to eat the cat grass, we had an emergency switch of food to Blue Buffalo Healthy Growth Kitten because my parents and I looked over the ingredients since my parents were skeptical of the other foods I was showing that would be healthier.

A week after that, the grass was grown enough for her to eat so we let her have some (She loved it and instantly took to it!). We only let her have some before taking it away so we could see her reaction over the next day. She didn't throw up, or anything, but we noticed a difference in her litter use: She now only pees 2-4 times a day, and poops once a day or sometimes once every other day. We don't know what caused this change, but we also noticed (Small TMI warning:) her poop doesn't stink as much and is also heavier than when she was eating Purina.

Do you think this was caused by the change of food? The grass? Or what could it be? She's actually really healthy in all other categories, her fur is soft and shiny, she's getting bigger (little more muscular and long), her energy comes in bursts of super-hyper-running-around mode to "I just want to lie down and watch you or sleep" mode.

Bonus question:

What can you do to help a kitten who's teething but hates the cold? I've heard that a frozen towel dipped in chicken broth helps but Espa really despises anything cold near her mouth. But there are days when she either loses a tooth or a teeth is coming in and she walks around, meows a ton, and starts nibbling on anything and everything except her dry food (so we have to give her wet food but she focuses on the chicken broth). They say teething stops at 9 months or so, so I just want a way to help her with the process if possible.

Stool smell and size are directly related to what kitty is eating. For example, raw fed cats often don't poo daily and their stools are small, and often have little to no smell. BB is slightly better quality food than anything you can buy at the grocery store, so that explains the changes in stool. You can buy treats she can chew on if you think she might like that. They are good for kitties teeth, but some cats don't really enjoy chewing.
