Hello everyone,

I start of with some background, My family adopted two cats almost a year ago a male and a female. We've struggled with the male cat (woody) with peeing outside the litter box a few months after brought them home they were 4 months old. He's been to the vets multiple times, the first time he went he had a bladder infection. We got that cleared up and a few weeks went by then the peeing started again. We've tried everything collars, oils, and diffuses. Lately He goes weeks without peeing anywhere but when he does he usually sprays on a door. We clean the litter boxes daily sometimes twice a day.  He seems to do this with he's mad for instance one night we let the female cat sleep in our room when I woke up and opened the door he immediately went to spray on her but I managed to shew him away and he sprayed the wall. Woody is a very loving cat he always wants to be nestled in your neck and purring away. That's why we shout him out because he won't let us sleep. Woody wont let Gypsy (other cat) come near us he will run her out of the room, if woody's not around she'll love on us but the moment he walks he she takes off. If the both of them are alone they'll sleep on each other and clean one another. Woody will also Bat my dog in the face for no reason at all.(my dog loves cats Gypsy will always rub on him and take naps together).

I feel like Woody needs to be in a home where he is number one and can get all the attention he needs. I don't want to give him away but he's ruining our house. He's the coolest cat I've ever seen personality wise, he's a big love bug and comes when he's called. My father really likes him and said he would take him. He has no other animals and they are home all the time. I think he would be happier where he doesn't have to compete for love between my daughter, the dog and the other cat.  I just wanted some other peoples opinions before I do anything.

thanks

you just described male cat behavior, exactly why I will only have females. If your dad will take him, at least you would know he's going to be taken care of properly, you can visit anytime & you won't always be wondering whatever happened to Woody. Yes not having him around would make your life less stressful but YOU have to figure out if you can live without him. Some people just deal with stuff like that, wait until more people weigh in, especially those with males
