Hello my fellow cat lovers. My 5-month old Persian kitten continues to sneeze almost everyday. There isn't any discharge and I don't know what it could be. I have an older Persian cat and when he was a kitten he had a cold twice and his did have discharge, so I know that that looks like. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

I am a human doctor, not a vet, and any advice that I give should be checked by your vet. However it is quite possible that your cat may have contracted an upper respiratory tract infection and I suggest that you take the cat to a vet for advice and treatment.

This may well be an infectious condition and you should first advise the vet's receptionist  of this as your cat may need to be isolated until he sees the vet.

With all best wishes,

Geoffrey

We had a Persian as well. He was prone to URIs. Much sneezing as well. He had an unusually pushed in face so I don't know if or how that contributed.

Thank you guys! We go above and beyond for your responses--they have a wellness plan and insurance, but the vet wasn't really worried the last time we asked. We will take him back again.
