I didn't see a Tues thread so I thought I'd start one.
Today is my official Monday. I had a fantastic Monday which is rare for me, and well it bounced back today.
Currently the plumbers are outside trying to snake my sewer system and are getting baby wipes, and tree roots. unfortunately, they've also come across a patch that they can't get by,and they think it might be structural damage in the line. so what I THOUGHT was a routine visit to clean the sewer of tree roots, and snake the line for my washing machine, has now turned into a million $$ project. he's been out there since 10 am.
Now mind you, this isn't totally unexpected, since the sewer line is right under a tree, but they told me that it was past the tree and I have no idea why it'd be that way. Our house, our rental and the house next to it share one sewer line it just breaks off into the three houses, if that tells you how old the lines are. This sucks, now we have to foot the bill for the three houses since my renter isn't responsible for it and the neighbors can't help cause they have little or no money since they are both elderly and retired. It just makes me
.

That stinks that you have to foot the whole bill. I guess its just one of the unexpected things that comes with owning a house.

My day has been ok so far...its been pretty boring, like usual...there haven't been that many visitors and I don't have any extra work to do. I guess I can't complain though, since I'm off to lunch in 5 mins. Hopefully the rest of the day will go by fast.

Holy cow, sorry about your sewer system, we have lots of problems with our pipes! Well well well, we took Neko in to the vet and I wake up this morning and guess what? All the other cats are coming down with the cold! So we are taking Scooter to the vet today to get more medicine and some for the others as well, sheesh this spreads like wildfire! So guess what I get to do for the next week and a half? Give pills to all the cats 2 times a day! Yay...haha ok ok I am being sarcastic, kitties don't like pills so this will be sooo much fun! Time to go buy more wet food!

Movin' on up!
I have the day off, which means two Mondays, this week. Bill's alarm malfunctioned, this morning and would not shut off. By the time that he fumbled around and unplugged it, I was wide awake. Therefore, I have been awake, since 4:30.

Went to KMart early and bought a nice pork roast for dinner. I also got a nice pair of white high-heeled pumps and two good button-down shirts - white and lavender. I'm set for spring, now.

It rained, early this morning and is still damp and chilly. My shoulder feels as if someone is driving nails through it. Opie keeps it warm, most of the night but, I can't convince him to ride around on it, during the day.

Rowdy was funny, this a.m. I heard her in the bathroom, talking to Bill. I'm not sure WHAT she was telling him but, she was chattering up a storm.

Guess that I'll pop over to the library and spend the rest of the day, goofing off.

That's too bad about your sewer line. I can understand why your renters aren't responsible, but it seems the neighbors should try to contribute something. I would at least talk to them. Even though it may appear they don't have much you never know. They might have something stashed away for emergencies like this, or their family might be prepared to help with emergencies like this.

Yesterday was my friday and today is the first day of my week off. I slept until a little while ago (noon) and now have to get up and join the living!

well here's an update on my sewer line, after three hours and $223.00 they said that there isn't any major damage in my lines, but everytime we need to get the roots cleaned out of them (he said at least every 6 months, doing it once a year would be pushing it) it'd be at LEAST $150.00. OUCH!

So each time that's gonna hurt... but hopefully this way we can keep the d**n tree roots from stopping it up again. but if anyone puts a babywipe down the toilet again, well, theres more :money: out of our pockets, since they can't get all the roots out of the line because they are so thick and the wipes will clog it up again. I wonder if it'd be rude to send letters to both my nieghbors and the renter asking them to please not put baby wipes in the toilet.

Oh yeah katl8e, I just got some new shoes that are to die for, if you want to see then, let me know and I'll send them to you , I don't know how to put things on here very well so I am not going to yet, maybe when honey comes home, I'll try and post them for ya! I bought them for the David Bowie concert we are going to in May!

Jugen, I think you should DEFINITELY write to the renter and the neighbor and tell them not to put stuff in the toilet (not baby wipes, not the new moist wipes for adults) just toilet paper. I'm sure they'd be willing to do that. No one wants a blocked sewer system.

My Tuesday is going well. I'm finally going to finish one of my big projects at work.

Hey Barb! I saw some stuff at Home Depot a few weeks ago for tree roots. Maybe if you use that and treat your system as it instructs, it will help cut down on the need for the visits a bit.

I'd definately ask the neighbor and the tenant to not put baby wipes etc. down the drain. It's not rude at all.

Jugen, its not rude at all to ask for courtesy not to flush wipes etc down the loo - and to have it in writing would make it formal that you have told them to do something.

We have been having septic problems as well, it keeps flooding, even though the tank is supposed to last 5 years - my landlord suspects its because the neighbours has around 7-8 people staying at her place at one time.
