Are you married or ever been married ?

I was married a lifetime ago.  We were divorced in 1986.  I honestly feel as though I have never been married.

Yes and I've been trying to get divorced for 4 years but I haven't had the money to file and the jerk won't do it for some reason.

Nope, never married. No significant others. Not really interested in a romantic relationship.

My parents have been married for 40 years. My maternal grandparents were married for almost 60 years, but they hated each other for nearly the entire time so I'm not sure what the point was :tongue2:. I think that family legacy has affected the younger generation because none of my cousins have wanted to get married. 3 are married now but they all waited until they had been together for several years. Just to make sure I guess!

Married twice. Once in my late 20's, which I knew at the time was a big mistake but was too afraid to cancel the wedding. I got out after 3 bad years. An extremely poor decision on my part.

Second time was after being on my own again for about 10 years (I'm very good about being single - I enjoyed it a lot in fact).  We married after a couple of years of knowing each other and I was nearly 40 at that point, Was married to him for 8 years, and on the surface everyone thought we had a good marriage, and overall it wasn't terrible except for one big problem, one which was so opposite of the person I knew him to be and one which could not be reconciled.  So, I left.

I'm engaged now at 57. I met him right as I was leaving #2. I'd never went into a relationship that quickly - it was one of those things where we both just knew, although we tried to avoid getting to entangled for many months since I was getting divorced and that made life a bit hectic. But we made it through everything and more that life through at us and I'm completely sure this one will last. It better because I've had enough of this now LOL.  But to be honest, he's the one that is most appropriate as a partner on every level necessary for a good relationship.  He's been married before and has a grown daughter with kids so now, I have a surrogate daughter and grandchildren which is kind of cool since I never had kids.

Nope, never have. Would like to one day, if the right person comes along. But at 47, I'm starting to wonder if it will ever happen! I've had some long term relationships, but timing didn't seem to be in sync for where either if us were at during that time, & what we wanted, or were ready for. The longest was when I lived in MN for 6 & 1/2 yrs. When that didn't work out after that long, I came back home here to NC. & My family.
Funny though, after 30 yrs of knowing each other, we are good friends. He lives in Atlanta now, & I see him when he visits his parents here. I guess when you live w/ someone that long, & have known someone that long, they know you better than anyone.
