I joined this site because I am in desperate need for help. I have rescued four cats. And two of them have been itching nonstop for about 4 months now.

My other two do not itch at all.

I have TRIED every last thing. I have tried allergy medication (safe for cats) Frontline Plus (TWO doses) ,Ivermectin, Raid Flea and Flea Egg bombs, Carpet Cleaner, Diatomaceous Earth Powder (which is said to be the 'miracle cure' for fleas) Flea/Allergy baths with Aloe, Oatmeal shampoo, Itch relief spray, I have dewormed them and even Advantage carpet spray

I have tried EVERYTHING! I see no more fleas on my cats, but two of them are still ITCHING, every night, ALL night! And yes, anal glands have been checked.

PLEASE! I need ideas! They are both female, spayed. One is 3 years old, and one is 11 years old. They are not related. HELP ME!

Could it be food related, and not health related? What are you feeding them? If you don't see fleas on them, then they probably don't have them.

I would say allergies too, I have one cat that over grooms and itches constantly too. A lot of the itching may be from the flea treatments themselves, this same cat I have lost most of his fur due to a treatment. Do not bathe anymore, the bathing is drying out their skin and they may be sensitive to the shampoos. I have given my cat Benadryl, 25 mg. tablet that is cut in half, then in half again. Of course clear this with your vet first and for the right dose amount. I then 'paste'  the tiny bit to a cat treat with a piece of Pill Pocket and he gobbles it right up. Claritan can be given too, once again cut in half and then half again. Change food for a while, if you are feeding fish, change to chicken or turkey. There are several cat foods out there for sensitivities, you might change to one of them. Mine has never stopped scratching, but he is MUCH better than he was. Good luck!
