Oh, man.  Such confusion today and late last night.  But I just realized that today it Wednesday, NOT Tuesday, and here I am!

What is your LEAST favorite housekeeping chore, and to what lengths will you go to avoid it?

Mine is dusting.  I dust 4 times a year for our inspections.

Vacuuming!  Too many cat toys in the path of the vacuum cleaner to pick up.

Washing the kitchen floor. My feet get wet and I can't stand it. It is also hard on my back. Vacuuming is a close second.

Hand washing dishes.  We have a dishwasher; but we don't put the pots and things like that in there.  Fortunately DH does them most of the time.  One of my Grandmothers just loved washing dishes.  You could barely set a spoon in the sink and she'd be over there washing it.  And she insisted on doing them herself.  I have never understood the interest!

I despise washing dishes. I really hate washing dishes.

When our dishwasher died, we went several weeks without one. I finally said to Dear Richard, "If you want me to cook, we will get a dishwasher. NOW." Since the man loves to eat and he loves his cookies, it didn't take long. And in fairness, I will say that Rick did help with the dishes; I'd wash and he'd dry and put them away. He would say that the couple who washes dishes together stays together. I was not amused. I ate washing dishes.

Mooch, my mother loved washing dishes. She couldn't go to bed with a coffee cup in the sink. And she'd run a sink of water to clean said cup. Made me crazy.

I'm telling you, there ought to be a law.

Cleaning UNDER furniture like couches and beds and in closets. It doesn't get done more than once a year when all the baseboards, etc get wiped down and I always feel guilty when I think of how often my mother deep cleaned, at LEAST twice a year. I wash my windows once a month and vacuum almost daily, it just seems there are more enjoyable things to do then deep clean. Once it's done I always feel so good, but it is hard to get started.

Dishes (don't have a dishwasher), hanging up clothes (dryer broke. Shitty week :-/ ), cleaning under furniture or having to move things to clean behind them (like the bed, etc). If I accidentally drop ice cubes on the floor, I simply kick them under the fridge. Who's with me on that one? :D

cleaning the wall tiles in the shower. my dream is to one day have the tub-shower, and those wall tiles, replaced with a walk-in shower with something on the wall(s) that can be easily cleaned. i don't think i'd even mind large tiles on the walls, just not those small tiles with grout between them.

I hear ya!!  Our cabinet space was SO limited at our last place but we sacrificed it and had a dishwasher installed one year when we actually got a tax refund.  It was worth it!!

We have a smooth one piece surround and tub and it's still hard to clean.  It's all just acrylic and it's like a magnet in the summer when DH is constantly wearing sunscreen and constantly dirty.  I end up having to break out the horrible heavy duty cleaners a few times to get it clean!  I run the fan and open the window and spray and then try to get out for a bit till I need to scrub.

I also hate to vacuum under things.. Moving furniture is impossible for me; so it is very hared to keep cleaned. I was smart and put the sliders under the furniture in the living area. I can easily move the coach and entertainment center; not having a carpet also helps..

In my bedroom it is impossible to move the bureau and chest of drawers. My desk is a bit easier, but still so hard to move..

I also hate cleaning the bathroom and the litter boxes. Artie has the extra bathroom as his, so when I clean the boxes, I have to clean the bathroom. I am exhausted after I do that. It is not so easy, living in an apartment and not having a cellar to do things in...

Actually, to sum it up:  I Hate Cleaning!!!

I have never in my life had a dishwasher.

For 30 years until my husband served divorce papers on me in September I deep-cleaned our house twice a year. If it moved it got cleaned!

NOTHING worse than a broken drier.

We have small grouted tiles everywhere, including kitchen & bathroom floors. I hate the bloody things.

Laundry. Unfortunately, I can't avoid it. I can let it pile up in baskets (clean) but it drives me crazy.

Oh, I hate all of it. If I could afford to pay someone to do it for me, I would.  I guess I wouldn't mind if I didn't work all week and DH would help just a little bit.

have you tried using barkeeper's friend liquid cleaner? that stuff does the job, gets the soap scum and other 'gunk' off of tiles, tubs, glass, and etc with very little scrubbing......and it doesn't have the horrible fumes of many of the heavy duty cleaners. it contains oxalic acid, which is found in plants such as rhubarb. here's the product page for barkeeper's friend -- https://www.barkeepersfriend.com/cleaning-products/soft-cleanser/

i use barkeeper's friend to clean my tub, and bathroom sink, as well as my kitchen sink (which is older, but shines really nicely) and flat top stove top and stainless range vent.
