Hi all! I'm new here but not new to the feline world. After having cats my whole life, I found myself an empty nester after my 16 yo DSH passed away last January. I adopted a pure bred Siberian who is now almost 6 months and I'll be bringing home his half brother in a couple weeks, he'll be 11 weeks then. I'm scared. I want them to get along, no fighting no litter box issues. I feel like I've reached the end of the Internet with searching about how to integrate the two but was wondering if anyone specifically had experience with integrating Siberians, besides the breeder. All comments welcome!

I have integrated several cats! There should always be a room to place the new kitty. Cats are very territorial. Kittens tend to be more accepting than adults.

Try to feed them at the same time. Place their food dish by the door. It's about scent. If it is associated with good things, it won't be so dramatic with they meet. Always remember litter boxes (# of cats plus 1) This helps the dominant one to not feel so protective of the litter box. (Poping out of the box is the dominant on declaring that box is his/hers).

Give it about a month. If they loves floor toys, let them play with it about a week & swap toys. Again with associating the new scent with good things.

OMG! I forgot to mention about a possible "jealousy" issue! My baby follows me EVERYWHERE!! He tends to lash out every now & then when I cuddle with another cat. You must nip it in the bud! I scolded him & placed him in my daughters room that night. MAN, he pouted the next morning! But it was a necessary to put him in his place! I love all my babies & he is special to me & YES my favorite one, but due to his size & power, I have to keep him in check!!

Hi @FastEddie and welcome to TCS!

I believe you would use the same techniques to integrate Siberians as you would for other cats.  Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the specific breed will come along, but in the meantime, rather than go through all the techniques, here's an excellent article.  Have a read, see what you think, and let us know if you have any questions etc.

This is me trying to fold laundry! He is VERY clingy! Follows me all over the house. He sleeps with me too. I say "night night" & he will walk up the stairs beside me. Lol

Thank you for the comments, article and photo guys! We r getting closer to the new kittens arrival, two weeks away. My resident cat has the run of the house but stayed in the hall bathroom for a week while he got used to our place. He has a litter box in there still that he hasn't used in about a month because he prefers the one in the laundry room downstairs. Here's the question....should I orient the new kitten in that same hall bathroom or use a new room altogether? Am I overthinking this? I'm afraid if the new kitten is in the hall bathroom (that my resisdent cat never uses anymore), that my resident cat may get upset. What do you think?

FastEddie, I would acclimate the kitten in the hall bathroom. The kitten will get the scent & NOT disrupt your older kitten. Make it as pleasant as possible for both. [emoji]128516[/emoji]

PLEASE watch & monitor the jealousy.

I have a Siberian. They tend to be pretty relaxed about other cats, from what I can tell. I would use normal introduction steps and hopefully it will move along quickly.
