Where my cats are
I have wished I could read my cats minds so many times since they became seniors and decided they needed a different feeding routine!  I wish they could tell me what they would like to eat!

As for vomiting; if it's a hairball it's fairly normal.  Regular brushing can help with that.  If it becomes a regular occurance; I would consult your vet.  When a cat pees inappropriately it can be a good idea to take them to the vet to rule out an infection.  I have had cats have accidents for other reasons; but it's usually pretty obvious why.  For example; Noodles had gotten shut in a room for a while and when we came home to let her out she ran for the laundry room, but my young son was in the hallway so she ran to her bed instead and wet in it.  She's a bit tempermental of a cat so she wasn't just going to go in the laundry room with a preschooler right there to watch.

ALL CATS ARE WEIRD; ALL!!!  THEY ALL ACT OUT at some point--they're too much like crazy people, trust me.if you want more boring, sane behavior, get a dog.---which is why CATS  are more popular. MINE HATES MY COMPUTER!!!   My "pre-owned" Burmese thinks i will die and leave her cuz her 90 yr. old owner did; so if myself is depressed and in pain, sleeps too much, is on computer, does not give her millions of treats, she gets angry and depressed. ,(she eats ok).she is like E.T. and the little boy in "E.T."

YES, I KNOW A SEMI-sIAMESE PERSONALITY IS SNOBBY, TEMPEPRMENTAL, AND hates cold weather---i HAVE TO TURN ON HEAT MORE--NOT FOR ME--FOR CAT!!     and she has a thick winter coat!!   if a cat does not drive you nuts, you gotaa St. Bernard!!!

the feral ones never tame; the kittens freak out!! multiple cats fight each other--there are very different personalities--my sister lost her fave "lead cat" to cancer, it was the group-head!!

(one of the feral adults hid forever, hated the others, had terrible personality, ---was a total failure as ANYTHING!!   IT NEVER GOT BETTER!!(they could be worse than humans, never changing.)  feral cats who were abused, are a big risk(she was.)she never got better!! i suggest, don't adopt feral or abused cats, they never change. its your choice. but our feral cats were a disaster.--ditto abused cats. they need "SPECIALISTS" often, to own them.--if yer not a specialist, i advise don't take them.   yer both doomed/ ditto "pre-owned" cats, mine has PTSD. I LOVE HER--but she'll never get over it. (shit).   you wanta a no-problem cat, get a stuffed one.

Well it's good then that we have a Stays and Ferals forum and a Behavior forum to help out with all of these cats that have some issues, isn't it? :) All cats deserve a chance.

My cat was a terrified stray when we adopted her. It's taken quite a while but it's been quite rewarding to see her turn into a loving, trusting lap cat. :)

About half of the cats and kittens that have ended up at our shelter were ferals (including Mogli, who's one of the most laidback cats ever, even at the vet's). With very few exceptions, the kittens and young cats became quite tame and affectionate and could be placed in loving homes. The tame strays were even easier once they settled down.
