a while ago i noticed that a stray orange cat is living own our property. i find him in the garage and in the garbage. i really want to feed it and bring it in, but with 7 other cats to feed, it might waste money and scare some of my cats. what should i do? feed it or leave it alone?

Catman7766...first of all..thanks for caring. Secondly, if you can trap the cat and get it fixed and UTD on shots..that would be wonderful. If you need a listing of low cost spay/neuter clinics..just tell me what state you are in. Is the cat friendly?? You may want to try to place this cat in a no kill shelter or see if you have a coworker who is interested in adopting it. I would feed it if it were me...but make sure you get it to a vet so that the vet can check it over and spay/neuter it.

Catman 7766, I understand that you are in Arizona? Where in AZ? I am in Tucson, I only have 6 to feed.

I'd say feed the cat and give it some shelter, like a warm box in the garage. At the first opportunity, trap it (you can often borrow traps from shelters or rescue groups) and get it checked out by a vet (not just whether it is neutered and for shots, but checked out for FeLV and FIV, for your cats' protection). We did the same, and had a (primarily outdoor) pet for about 6 years. He had access to our furnace/laundry room at all times, and spent a lot of time in our spare bedroom when the weather was vile or he was ill. This cat is obviously seeking food and shelter, and needs your help.

That seems a good idea about the box in the garage, he/she already goes in there anyway. Please let us know how you go with him/her
