My 6 month old kitten was having some problems and my vet recommended RC SO she gave me a gallon bag to sample to see if my Ripley would eat it. I started mixing it in to his current dry food which is Iams so either way I have to find him a new food since that was the food he was on when we adopted him. I was hoping he wouldn't like it but of course he loves the RC SO and I'm not wild about the ingredients and it is pricey. I found a petsmart brand Good Natured was happy with ingredients is grain free and has real chicken and fish but he won't eat it. He drinks plenty of water we have a fountain water dish for him and haven't actually run into urinary problems. I'm concerned for his well being but would prefer to find an alternative so RC SO if possible. Any ideas? He can't eat wet food as everything he has eaten has gotten him sick so I don't mind spending a bit more on the dry food I just want it to be good quality. Thanks!!!'

So was he put on the S /O because he blocked or something?  That's usually the reason.  But he's so young to already have that issue.

Until we know further his health issues, it's hard to really help out, but do need to know more about his problem with wet food too, because with srystals, wet food is best...the more moisture the better.  What wet foods have you tried?

Weruva is a good wet food for cats with a history of blockage. They are low in magnesium, high protein, and high moisture. The low magnesium helps prevent crystals, the high protein acidifies the urine, and the high moisture helps dilute the urine and keep bladder and kidneys flush.
