I adopted a pair of kittens 3 month ago, they are now 5 month old. Maybe It's just in my head but I personally think they gotten bigger since I first adopted t hem; however all my friends/relatives tells me my kittens look the same size as 3 month ago. At first I didn't pay too much attention to them, since I am the one with the kittens every day. Today I looked at some old pictures from 3 month ago and I weighed my kittens today; I can't believe my eyes! They only gain half Ib since I adopted them 3 month ago and they indeed look the same size as 3 month ago based on the pictures, Should I be concerned?

some are petite, especially females - some adult females looks alike kittens - ARE they females?

Are they properly dewormed? Often its necessary to deworm both twice and thrice.

What are you feeding them?  You can always use goat milk as a supplement - nourishing and easy to digest.

I agree with StefanZ, females do tend to be more petite. One of my boys seemed to grow rather slowly as well, but he more lacked "fluff" and was still growing in bone mass and weight. As an adult, he is on the petite size. 5 month old kittens still weighing the same as 2 month olds seems a bit worrisome though. There really should be a drastic change in that time period.

How often are you feeding them and how much do you feed them? Kittens should be able to free range feed on dry food all day and be offered 3-4 wet food meals per day. Also, what kind of food are you feeding them? It is important that they are on high quality kitten food or at least all stages food that is high in protein and fat. Lower quality food will have kittens eating more of the food in order to get the proper nutrients and calories they should have in a day. But not all kittens can consume this much food. So the more nutrients packed in a smaller amount of food is best.
