My cat has (as the title states) runny poos. I've heard adding certain things to their diet like yogurt can make their poo more solid? I'm trying to get him a vet appointment as soon as possible but in the time being I just want to help him in some way. He's drinking plenty of water and eating his food (no diet change, just change in giving him wet in the morning and night but the same amount as before). really not sure what to do since he won't get all his poo out and I don't want it getting all over the house especially since we have carpets...I don't know if this could be because he has a uri (he is taking medicine for it at the moment)....

I think you're on the right track.  I bet the antibiotic is causing the diarrhea or loose stools.  That's a very common side effect.  Call the vet in the morning and let them know what's going on and ask them for a different med for the URI and also ask for something to help with his diarrhea.  In the meantime, you can add plain canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling!)  to his wet food to help firm up his stools.  You can also try plain yogurt or even plain squash baby food.  You can also add a probiotic to help replenish the gut flora that's been wiped out by the antibiotic. We give our kitties Proviable and it works pretty well.

Okay I'll try giving one of those to him. I thought yogurt was dairy though? (And cats are lactose intolerant). I could be totally wrong since I'm not a fan of yogurt to begin with.

Yogurt naturally doesn't have much lactose in it.
