Cheyenne some how got fleas. Probably from the strays outside we feed. We gave him a treatment that seemed to work but, for the house I seen this light trap that looked good. So far we got about 6 fleas in it the first day. I was told to sprinkle fine salt in the carpet as it would dry out the fleas and kill them. Someone said to make my own trap with water and Dawn dishsoap. But I read that could make Cheyenne very sick if he was to drink it. So the light seems to be the safest way. And Cheyenne likes the light............

Six fleas, in one trap, in one area, in 24hrs.  Is a problem.
Traps won't solve a problem.
Move them around every few days and use them to judge WHERE the worst areas are.
Use them to determine when an area is completely flea free.

People that catch 50-100 fleas a night in those traps have a far worse problem than just six.
BUT, if they had been using traps two weeks before?  They would have only caught six.

Start now before it gets out of hand.

Traps are not to be used as the only solution. Treating the cat with a good flea ointment, vacuuming the carpets, spraying the house with a good flea and pest killer esp. along entrance ways, using a flea comb to comb your cat daily/every other day, keep your cat indoors and after vacuuming throw away the bag if you have one.
