This went on for approx 3 minutes, with my kitten (5 months) looking confused whenever his jaw would start to twitch and then he would begin pawing at it and sticking his tongue out. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, and I was massaging his mouth/jaw with no complaints. Any thoughts as to what's going on and if it's anything serious?

I'm so sorry no one responded to your post!  I'm just now seeing it for the first time.

It looks to me as if he has something stuck in his mouth.  Have you looked inside to see if there is anything in there.  Once a cat even had a needle stuck in his mouth
, and you know kittens...prone to getting any anything they can get their paws and teeth into

I agree, it looks like something is bothering him.  It could be in his mouth or somewhere around it.  It is really hard to look inside a kitten's mouth so if it is still happening I would say take him along to a vet as they know how to do this, and what to look for.

Yeah, most likely something stuck in his mouth. I can attest to a needle story as well; my vet had a kitty come in with one stuck in the roof of her mouth. Could just be a small piece of kibble or something.

Is he still doing it?? 5 months old is prime teething time, too. Could be something due to that as well.
