Hello everyone!

I'm trying to identify the origins of my furry companion Flavia.

Background

Flavia was a feral cat. I never seen her mom or dad. I never knew of any siblings either.

Personality
For being a feral cat, that spent her first year of life w/o any meaningful human contact, she is surprisingly very gentle. No signs of aggression; very submissive. Even when we adopted cat #2 she never hissed, growled, or puffed up @ him. She is relatively independent, somewhat vocal, graceful on her feet, and active.

Physical

Below I have pictures.

My Impression: She is relatively small, opal green eyes, Brown/black fur with a hint of red on her face, w/ stripe-like/swirl-like markings. I think she may have a little Bengal in her. Bengals usually have a spotted-like pattern, but the color of her fur and eyes look similar to the breed.

What do y'all think

Remote for reference

See the hint of red in her face

Thanks for looking!

Oh, she is pretty! She's a classic torbie (tortie/tabby). Classic is what you call the swirled tabbies, and I'm pretty sure there's some orange on her face which is the tortie part. It could just be the lighting but I think not. I don't see anything that would make me think she has any Bengal heritage.

Sokokes were developed from the street cats of Kenya. They're extremely rare in the US. So unless there's a Sokoke breeder in your area who isn't very responsible with their animals, it's unlikely. Plus she doesn't have the lanky build of street cats from hot climates. Very very few cats have any purebred background, they aren't like dogs. Cats usually just do their own thing without any human intervention. So a couple of very pretty cats in your area just happened to get together, I think :D.

Haha yeah then she is probably not a Sokoke. Although her human-dad is from Africa

Thanks for your compliments!

I agree with Willowys analysis, tortie / torbie and classical tabby.   The tortie part not very apparent, as this red part  we see COULD be some sort of rufism - ie bening reddish without being true red genetically.  BUT. the beautiful, not so common green eyes is a strong indicium - many torties have green eyes - it seems to be connected somehow.

And yea, no apparent connection to bengals, nor sokokes, although sokokes are classical tabbies them too.

I love TCS, and all you cat enthusiasts! I learn so much from you

She has some very pretty markings

I did not know torties could have green eyes. I love her eyes. Pictures don't do them justice. It's truly like looking into a crystal ball. In this picture (the day she got fixed), you can kind of see her coat better. Her coat has some nice tints of red.

You guys have definitely convinced me she is a Tori./Tabby mix. It's amazing the amount of variation in those breeds.

Tortie and tabby aren't breeds. Just colors/patterns. Many breeds can be tortie or tabby, or no breed. If you want to say what "breed" she is, we call cats with no breed background "domestic shorthairs".

Yeah it's that red streak over her left eye that makes me say torbie. She's very pretty!

Oh God I feel slightly embarrassed for not entirely knowing that

Cat breeds are a major weak point for me.....Thanks very much for the correction Willowy!
