Kitten Vomits Every Day?

I have a vet appointment this week but I just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on my kitten that keeps vomiting.

I recently took in two semi-feral kittens from my backyard on September 8th, one male, one female and they're about 4 months old. The male, Leo is a healthy kitty with no issues and has been given vaccines and deworming. The female, Shadow has been given the same vaccines as well as deworming. We noticed that they both tend to eat quite fast, so my sister and I tried spoon feeding them. When I'm feeding them both alone, I put Leo's food in a muffin baking tray so the food is evenly spread out and he has to go from cup to cup so it slows him down and that's been working for him. I even noticed that he's been taking breaks in between eating which is really good.

I tried the muffin method with Shadow and she still ate rather quickly which resulted in her vomiting hours later. I mentioned it to our veterinarian during our previous visit and he said it's because she eats too fast. So I went back to spoon feeding her. I spoon feed her tiny dime size portions and yet she still throws up at least once a day and it's always after eating.

I'm just looking for thoughts and advice to help Shadow to stop vomiting. Also, in your opinion, is there anything specific I should ask the veterinarian?

How much are you feeding them total per day?

Also, are you talking to the vet about spaying and neutering?

We use to feed them 3 times a day but she still vomited after each meal so the vet said to feed them 4 times a day in smaller portions which is what we're doing now. Each cat finishes a can a day. And yes, they will be spayed and neutered in November.

My first thought is food allergy/intolerance.  What are you feeding them?

We use to feed them hard food and wet food mixed together (which still caused her to vomit) but she always ate around the hard food so we switched her to wet food only. We've been feeding them grain free wet food. They first started out on the Royal Canin and she still vomited with that brand. We now use Nature's Variety Instinct. We've never fed them chicken, we try to avoid it. My sister has a severe fish allergy so we don't feed them fish either. We've tried other types such as beef or turkey and she still vomits. We've been feeding them lamb from Nature's Variety quite often and it's still the same result but I am noticing that she's vomiting more frequently which is pretty much after every meal.

I think you need to discuss this with your vet since you've tried various food.  I would try a limited ingredient diet food like duck & pea to see if that helps.  It's not good for kitties to vomit regularly and that indicates something else is going on.

Sophie was vomiting every day so I got cans in multiple wet flavors and tried them each day. Beef ended up being her no no. She still threw up here and there so I went grain free, vomited lessened. Went to strictly limited ingredient diet and they only throw up when there is a hairball or they ate something they shouldn't. Your kitten is more severe, but she might just have severe allergies too.
