Although her brother 'Socks' is still with us we miss 'Lilbit' so much it's almost unbearable. For 12 years she was a blessing to my wife and I. Almost every evening she would cuddle next to my wife to get her belly rubbed. We love you Lilbit. 'Socks' still runs to the door looking for you when we come home.

I'm so very sorry.  It takes so much time to get through that gut-wrenching grief.

For 12 years you shared your life with that sweet girl, the memories and love you shared will be with you for a lifetime. As with all living things, there comes a time when our life journey's paths must split, and we must go on alone, but the bond we have formed will keep us joined by our souls for the rest of our lives. This bond, in which love is the biggest part, is spiritual, not held to this earth by physical bonds, so it becomes a part of us, always present to bring comfort and to keep the love alive in our hearts.  Lilbit will be dearly missed because she was so loved, but the 'essence' that is her still surrounds you and the others she loved, she still sends her love along your bond and receives love back. You made a difference in that little girl's life, and for that she will always be grateful. You shared your love and your family with her and that is all she ever wanted. She is at peace knowing she will never be forgotten on this earth.

She would never want to bring you such sorrow with her passing, she wants you to go forward and to remember she left her legacy of love to bring you peace. She is beyond pain and grief, but you must work through yours and build a new life's order for yourself. We all learn through our grief to embrace what we have now in the present, because we cannot change or live in the past, and the future is what we make it. Don't let sorrow keep you from fully appreciating the life you have now, your wife and Socks are sharing your life's journey in the present, and together you will love and help one another through your grief.  My heart goes out to you, I too share the pain of loss, take care and thank you for your tribute for Lilbit, she will be in the thoughts and prayers of many today.  RIP dear Lilbit, you will held in the hearts of the family that misses you so much, let your love fill those hearts and comfort come from knowing that love will never end.

Thank you so much for the replies. They do help a lot. Here's another of 'Lilbit (Calico) and 'Socks' on the couch. They were together in the womb.

I'm so sorry for you loss.

What a beautiful cat she was. It's understandable that you still miss her, she was such a big part of your life for all those years. I'm sure that Socks feels the same.

Rest In Peace Lilbit.

I hear ya brother......they get into our hearts and can never get out, but that's not a bad thing now. She is still with you in spirit.....and one day the tears will be of much joy when you are once again all reunited.

God Bless.....

I'm with ya Big Al. Nothing rocks a guy's world like a calico. Been crying for my Boney Girl for 21 months.
Yes, they are cool. We had Serenity years ago, cute little pudgy thing, had a brain tumor but with meds and Transfer Factors lived another 1.5 years after being diagnosed and good years, and now have Sabrina, looks like just a younger version of her. They are cool looking, beautiful cats.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  She was a very precious girl.  RIP Lilbit.

It's been almost three months since I lost my Sandra and Thomas I lost the summer before.  Not a day goes by when I don't think of them.  It's so hard when they leave us; they are family members.  They live on in our heart forever.

So very true.....whenever I get down, and start feeling low about things or the losses of kitties that we have had over the years, I just pick Sylvester up and hug him, kiss his head and tell him "we found each other.......we helped each other" as he helped me get over losing Sebastian in a horrific way and Simon the year before, plus he was in pretty bad shape when I got him but now looks great. I just love him dearly, and when he goes I will be a wreck again, but I hope that isn't for a long time but one never knows....enjoy each day like it is your last.

"We found each other........"
