Wish I had more time to take pictures lately. Moving takes up so much time! Here is a picture of Tiki's couch. It is her BIG scratching post. I don't try to stop her because the couch was free, it's ugly, and she doesn't scratch anywhere else.

I remember when you first got Tiki you said that you were used to having dogs. Now that you've had Tiki for awhile, what's been your experience having a cat, instead of a dog? Is it what you thought it would be? Is she what you thought she'd be?

I am glad that I got Tiki. She is not like many other cats. She is not aloof and likes to be into whatever I am doing. She is starting to get obnoxious in the morning because she knows it is the time she is usually fed. I really hate that aspect and will probably quit giving her wet food for that reason. Sheis allowed to eat dry food freely. She is very smart but clumsy. She learned to "Sit" in about 10 minutes of training. I have to watch her constantly because she likes high places, but is always falling from them. She isn't quite the companion like a dog is, but she's getting there.

Sure, I can help fix your picture. I love to play in Photoshop. Please post full size version or email to [email protected] Here are 4 easy steps to greatly improve pet pictures.

1. Turn off the internal flash. This prevents redeye...err green eye in pets. Turning off the flash also prevents the background from being underexposed (dark). If the picture is blurry a bright halogen light helps. Halogen lamps bounce light off the ceiling which is much better lighting than the little flash in the camera. A tripod or stable surface doesn't hurt either.

2. Get in close, or as close as your camera will focus.

3. Shoot from the animals level.

4. Choose a simple background. The pet should be the focus, not the slurpee or bag of Doritos in the background.

Happy Shooting!

Thanks for the tips!! But ......ahem..... the photo that I need de-fuzzing is of ME!!! Noooo!!! I will understand if you want to take your offer back!! (I mean who wants a full size version of my big ol' chops on the screen!)

I can't post it on the site full size cos its just toooo big (and scary!) soooooo, if you don't mind I will send it along to your email address....(oh and please feel free to "adjust" me as necessary - you know make the upper region bigger, the thighs smaller, and you could even give me a waist if you like!!!!
)

Let me know if its ok, and I'll send it along....be warned though...

I used to feed my girls wet in the morning & quit because of that same reason. Now I just free feed all day long with the dry, and give them treats & kitty ice cream once a day or so.

Nitecrwlr; Another cute pic of Niki!
I love it that you taught her to sit. You also have her so she walks on a leash, right? (I think I remember seeing this in one of your other pictures)
AP; What is "kitty ice cream"? Did you solve the ant problem?

you can buy kitty ice cream in the frozen section of the grocery store. my cats love it.

I haven't done anymore about the ants problem then just keep the floor swept up. I have to run to the grocery store & get some baking powder

AP; Not baking powder: Baking Soda, BAKING SODA. Big difference;
the baking SODA will repel the ants; the baking powder may attract them!
Thanks for the FYI on the kitty ice cream. I think my "kids" would love it in the summer time.

Tiki looks like she is awaiting some message "from above" in that one. Perhaps some divine power is okaying her to scratch up the couch?

Tiki's markings are gorgeous! Now don't laugh,
when I ask you this (tee-hee, snicker, snicker)
but is Tiki an OCICAT (pronounced ah see cat)?
Tiki looks like one and I am not familiar with
breeds other than the Ragdoll and Persian!
Tiki deserves a couch of that magnitude!
What a looker!

No adjustments were necessary.
I love your red curly hair! Just in case you haven't checked it yet "you have mail".

An ocicat looks almost identical to her. She is a Bengal, or at least I was told she was.
She is 1/4 Asian Leapard Cat and 3/4 orange tabby. 100% tame. Smart, lucid, wild looking and I think she knows it. She was the center of attention when I took her to the vet. The lady nurse (is that what they are called?) snatched her from me the second I took her in and showed her to all the ladies in the back. Most people ask "does she eat raw meat". :tounge2:
:tounge2:
Here's more pictures if you're interested.

(but, alas, it is ALWAYS that curly - theres nothing I can do to stop it!! even ironing it doesn't work!!) The pictures are great! - Im just trying to decide whether to post one on the site or not! - I sent you an email too, hope you got it!

And seeing as they were missing from the email, here are some kisses for you!: (for being so nice!)

I signed your Guest Book Nitecrwlr!
(please read my comment). Your photo album of
Tiki has made my week! It has been such
a looooooong week for me and its only Wednesday.

I am so lucky to see Tiki as you don't
see cats with such beautiful markings like that
every day.

How did Tiki find you? My favorite
picture of Tiki looking at the Self Help Book
looks like a kitten picture?
