Hello.
I have a 6 month old female cat and she uses a litter tray. I want to train my cat to go outside for the toilet but I don't know who, the litter tray is very smelly and it makes the house smell. Does anyone have any tips to train my cat to use the toilet outside

If making her poop outside don't work, have you considered changing her food? There are brands for indoor cats that promise your cat's poop will not smell that much.

And she needs a secluded, calm place, where she will be able to bury her business. Do you have some place in mind?

How many litter boxes do you have? How often do you scoop them? What kind of litter do you use?

You posted in another thread that she is not spayed yet, so she should not be going outside at all.

I don't think you can train a cat to go outside.  Dogs ancestors lived in dens and their instinct was to not go to the bathroom in the den.  That is why dogs can be trained to go outside, it's a manner of training to see entire house as where they sleep or their den.  Cat's don't have that instinct tied to a den.  Their instinct is to cover their waste so they will use a litter box.

you will need to change the cat litter out more. I have an indoor/outdoor girl-she will NOT go outside. She comes in to do her business then back outside. My other only does #2 outside on a certain area of lawn and I scoop it up but in the winter she does use the catbox. Its best to keep them indoors if they are indoor cats. some cats don't make it back from being outside-I only adopt cats who have experience living outside as my eldest is an outdoor kitty and we leave the door propped open for them.

you will need to scoop twice a day and swap out litter once a week if it's clumping litter.

Thank you all for your replies. I will try changing the box everyday as I change it every two days.
