I've probably posted this in the wrong area but here goes anyway.

Anyone have any ideas for a hands free lap sitting device? Holder? Snuggie? Thing? For my cat? I work from home and he likes to be in my lap, but I need both hands, and because my thighs are of the larger variety, my legs tilt downhill to my knees when sitting at my desk just enough so no flat playing field for him to lie steady on and he rolls. :lol3:

I've seen those nifty cat/small dog pouch hoodies but they are currently only an Asian/Japan thing and though they have an XXL, I know from experience their sizes run much smaller than here in the states. The description says sizes are US but reviewers say otherwise. Here's a link to the hoodie.
I'm just trying to find something I can pick up in a store, pet dept or maybe something from the human baby dept, or even creative DIY ideas. If I have my long night shirt on, it goes to my knees, I can pull it up slightly over him and he stays put, but I can't do that with every shirt, lol.

I'd just like to be able to not tell him no all the time or immediately put him back on the floor when he jumps up. If he didn't have a fascination with playing with everything that moves on my monitor screen, I'd have no problem with him lying on my desk. But as it is currently, he goes back on the ground, giving me these cute little disappointed meows while walking away that make me feel bad I said no, lol.

Sorry this was so long. Any and all ideas are most welcome!

It's a great idea.  Do you know anyone who sews?  If you could supply your own sweatshirt or hoodie, all they would have to do is make the appropriate pouch and sew it on.  It looks pretty simple to do what you want.  Yours does not have to be road ready, it just needs to be desk ready. I bet you can make this happen.  Let us know!

Oh geez, I didn't even think to do that to one of my own sweatshirts.
See, that's why I need to post on here more as that's a great idea!  I do a little sewing myself but it's not a really active hobby of mine as of late.  I'm sure I could make it work since it's like you said, just desk ready and doesn't have to be pretty.

I had even thought about making my own hammock type getup sort of similar to the ones women use for breastfeeding in public.  Something I could possibly wrap over and under the shoulders so he maybe even almost hangs in the hammock.  We'll see what I can come up with.

I appreciate your response and for getting my brain on the right track for ideas!
