OUR CAT SPECK 'S HEALTH
Our cat had a mucas plug flushed out of his bladder in march of this year, vet told us to put him on Royal Canin urinary SO wet food and nothing else and so that is what we did. This is the only food he eats and I also add a bit of water to this food. Everything was going great up until September of this yr.
On 9-12 he peed in a bx right in front of me. Brought up to vet who placed him on antibiotics(clavamox) and 3 days of pain med(onsior). On the 2nd day of giving antibiotics we thought there was slight improvement. Thought we were on the right track. We weren't.
On 9-19 his antibiotics where done and we saw no difference in Speck, so we went back to the Vet who thought it's Flutd .that wensday bring him a urine sample from syringe, comes back with no sign of infections. cat is no better. The vet prescribed 3 more onsior. Then on the evening of the 25th he peed on Paul while sleeping happened for 3 nights before he started dripping urine all the time. Vet prescribed anti anxiety med amitriptyline 5mg. No improvement, cats miserable, leaking urine where ever he goes, should be noted during all this there is no evidence of pain.
We go to a feline vet on the 1st of October This vet collects blood and does a urine culture. Blood work comes back with everything in the normal range and we go home to wait for culture results.
October 5th bring him back in we learn the urine culture was fine no bacteria growth. Have the cat x-ray ed and that showed us nothing his kidneys/bladder looked great. Decided on laser therapy got his first treatment that day and bring him home. Within 4 hours he quit dripping urine and was playing. Relived we decided on doing 2 more for that week and a additional three for a total of six. We had our cat back he was doing great
Until this morning the 10th of October. Back to going to his litter bx way to much and producing 3/8 drops of urine . What is going on with Him?
His environment should be fine he's a only cat , no kids, no other pet. He has a feliway diffuser he is a indoor cat but leash trained for daily outside walks in the back yard has access to a screened in lania we play with him every day. He has 2 litter boxes and 2 water areas.
We are frustrated and close to the end of being able to pay vet bills is a understatement. We love our cat and need help figuring this out. Please help
