You need a vet ASAP!!! That looks like an abscess and can cause a fatal condition if not treated with antibiotics asap. Vet may need to drain this as well.

Wishing you and your kitty the best

Yes, it could be an abscess from the inside of her mouth that's gone through to the outside,  from a bad tooth, or it could something else.  It's really impossible to know exactly what it is from a picture, and even if we thought we knew, we can't treat it via the internet.

Cats ARE masters at disguising pain, however, once they get to a certain point, they will stop eating and/or drinking and become lethargic when it gets too bad.

Is she not even pawing at it once in awhile.  Or did you  not notice her doing that possibly before it opened up? Did it just appear like this suddenly?

I am a human doctor, not a vet and any advice that I give about your cat should be checked with your vet.  It is difficult to tell from your photograph but the lesion could possibly be malignant.  You should take it to your vet.

With best wishes,

Geoffrey
