My kitten Haru, who is almost 5 months old, has FIP, at least as far as anyone can tell. He has started sucking on blankets constantly, and also appears to be sucking on air. When he does this he just stares straight ahead at nothing. I know that this can be behavior to help calm himself, but I am worried that it could be a sign that he is in pain or distress. I have never had to deal with FIP before, and I am torn between making absolutely certain nothing can be done and not allowing my baby to suffer. My husband and I disagree on when it is time to stop trying. He sleeps all day and is only drinking broth. I carry him to bed and to the litter box. He likes being held and petted, but does the sucking thing while we are holding him.

Can you find raw goats milk?  Preferably as fresh as possible.  Cant hurt, but may be the tongue on the scale if there is ANY chance to fight off...  Bottled powdered or cartooned goats milk are good food too, but not the same edge...

I dont know what this sucking is.  I suspect its to cheat off the pains...

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It does sound like it may be time, as it does sound like he's in pain. This is a great kindness that you can do for your cat.
