Hello, I've been reading around this site and have found answers to questions that I felt were useful, but I need to apply them to my baby.
My cat Shroud is a year old first time mother and went into labor yesterday at around 5:40AM.
She had her first kitten at 6AM, and it was a still born. The second kitten arrived at 10AM and is alive and healthy.
That's where the problem arises. It has been a day and momma kittys chest is still lumpy, and we couldn't really tell if there was movement. She also doesn't really move around, just stays there nursing her baby.
It has been around 28 Hours since she started labor and she only drank the water out of Wet food we gave her which was around 16hr. She hasn't drank/eaten since. All vets within around 70 kilometers are currently closed for the weekend and the nearest emergency clinic that would take her is 100 kilometers and is unaccessible.
Are we freaking out over nothing? I'm sorry if this is common cat behavior, but we have no one else to ask and I'd rather feel stupid than have something wrong with my cat.
