I have 8 orphaned kittens at the moment, six that are 8 weeks old and two that are 3 weeks old. Of the two 3-week-olds, one will not stop crying. I can't figure out what's wrong with him. I'm feeding them both constantly, they're both free of parasites and by all accounts very healthy. They're urinating and defecating normally, etc. One of them eats, then settles in and sleeps until the next feeding. The other eats a full meal (about 30-40 mL, until he stops eating), I make sure they burp then see if they're still hungry, yet he won't settle. He wanders around like he's searching, if I hold him, he climbs all over me. Finally, I just put him back in the nest, where he cries until he finally falls asleep.
I'm not sure what could be wrong with him. Could he just be lonely and still searching for his mother? I've had him less than two days.
