He could have been left outside.

About a year ago I was helping a buddy of mine move his aunt out of her house and into a nursing home. Upon arriving at the house I saw a chunky cat face sticking through the curtains staring out the window. When we went inside we were greeted by a very pleasant cat.Once we started moving furniture out he got really scared. While we were finishing up I had to use the bathroom. When I went in there I heard this sad scared whine coming from the bathtub. It was the cat. I then asked my buddy what was to happen to the cat. He then told me that he was just gonna leave him outside and that he didn't think the cat had ever been outside in its life. The cat was declawed, potty trained, and fixed. I'd never really owned my own cat before and I thought it seemed a little odd for a single man to get a cat. So I asked my sisters and friends if they wanted him. They all said they couldn't do it. I felt terrible about thinking that he could end up being coyote food just because I wouldn't step up. So I was like screw it I guess I just got me a cat. I live in a house with a roommate who owns a black lab mix. I was unsure of how this would work out at first. I read online about what I should do. I put his food, water, and litter box in my bedroom. I kept the door shut for the first two days so he could get used to the room and so the dog would leave him alone. For 2 whole days he just hid under my bed. He didn't eat or use the box. He came with a fishing pole style toy. So on the third day I just started flopping it around on the floor while I sat on the bed. To my surprise a paw shot out and grabbed it!I thought wow he's 5 and likes to play! I didn't know anything about cats at that time. To shorten up the story my best furry friend is named Cat and he's white with big orange spots. He's also got a weight problem that were working on. He plays with the dog and he has a high prey drive. Despite knowing that I don't let him outside. I'm very curious as to what breed of cat he could be.

Interesting day you got - are you a man or are you a mouse?  Do you have a spine and cojones, or do you lack them entirely?   Your buddy apparently has none - you proved you have plenty of them.  And a conscience too.

Im glad it turned really good too, both you and the dog got a friend.  It turned alikewise excellently for your cat.  (what is his name).

Breedwise, he is a shorthaired domestic, DSH, and the color and pattern is simply red and white bi-color...

I didn't get to know his given name by his first owner. I just kept calling him the cat. And so his name is Cat. He's a good one and he'll be around for a long time.
