Is it ok to put his cat food and water in the bathroom? I have his litter box on one side of the toilet and his food on the other. I don't have a lot of space and I have a roomba so I don't want it knocking over the food outside. However in worried about bacteria in the bathroom. Should I be concerned or do you think it's ok?

I wouldn't want to eat in the bathroom, would you? Even if you close the toilet lid lots of bacteria flies around, plus what if he kicks his litter out of the box and some of it gets in his food? Maybe your cat isn't a litter-kicker, but mine manage to scatter bits of litter in an impressively wide radius. Could you try putting his food and water inside a shallow box so that the Roomba bounces off of it? Or on top of the box turned upside down? There must be a better solution than putting food next to a toilet.

Cats have a totally different digestive system than ours, they can withstand an impressive amount of bacteria, that is why wild animals can drink out of birdbaths and ditches and dogs eat the disgusting things they do that makes us sick to think about it!
On top of a  box is a good idea, as is any high up place that the cat can jump to. I really think a roomba would bounce off of those heavy ceramic pet bowls that look like crock material, you might go shopping for those and could put them anywhere you like.

New cats are often confined into a bathroom for a while as they settle in. Unless the bathroom is super huge, the cat has to eat fairly close to the toilet and litter box. That is no problem at all as long as the tiolet lid id kept down, keep the bowsl ar far away from an open litter box to prevent litter from getting in the bowls, and you wash the bowls daily.

That said, a Roomba senses objects in its path and will navgiate around the object. Your cat's bowls will be fine wherever you put them in the house. The suggestions of using heavy bowls and a shallow box or tray or placing the bowls on a table or something are good.

I'm staying in a room & the bathroom is pretty large so my cats food & water are both in there. The litter box is out by the closet where the bed is. I don't think it's good to have food around litter, but that's just my opinion. I have a mat that I put paper plates on & then the water is on the wall behind the food.

As long as there's a window so you can let the humidity out after showers, the food should be fine. If it's dry food, it will soak up the moisture which isn't necessarily a bad thing but they won't be crunchy anymore.

I keep my cats food and water bowls on top of the dryer. My dogs like to steal the cats food so this keeps the cats food safe from the dogs. My washer and dryer are in the bathroom.

Our cats eat in the master bathroom and always have. The food is up on the counter next to the sink. Their litter box is on the other side of the room in the bathtub.
