my cat is right around 63 days pregnant. She's been rolling over on her side or laying on her chest and doing a little whimper/purring sound. She did that last week, didn't do it for a few days, and back to doing it now but it's been all day.. it seemed like her opening has been wet for the past few days and today I noticed a red tinged discharge.. she looks like she is having contractions, but she's still playing and flipping all over the place.. is this normal? Seems like everything I read says they are usually laying down relaxing by now... confused..

This several days ago were surely precontractions, a way of Mother Nature to train up the muscles. Womans have it too, with a fancy name on it.

I suspect now the prelabor has began, she has apparently some pains.

Some cats starts almost directly, others may have a quite long prelabor. Its OK.  Its the prolonged active labor, pushing phase, which is red flag on it - the active labor for cats is typically shorter than for women.

Yes, its a nervous time, it IS touchy. So observe, be prepared, stay calm  and help her to stay calm.

And report here now and then.

During phase one (precontractions) I have had one girl playing too. I have looked at her for 2 days like she was nuts haha. Every female has her own way of dealing with it. As long as she isnt in distress and the discharge doesnt smell foul, she should be doing okay. Keep us posted!

It seems several posts disappeared.  I hope the mods are cleansing up something, and they will return shortly.

Or Im confusing two very similiar treads.   Vallyally is in exact the same situation as you, TS, and similiar writing style.
