Hi! so I have a female kitten currently, and I just saw one of the most adorable kittens ever. There are 2 boys and 1 girl. Since I already have a girl I kinda want a boy but I  have heard that they spray the walls if not neatured. But I want another girl too because my girl seems very cuddly and sweet. I'm really indecisive please help? I want another companion for her so she won't be lonely.

If they aren't neutered by they time they mature which is usually around 7 or 8 months.  Girl kitties that aren't spayed before they mature sexually will often also urine mark.  You will also have tom cats around your home when she is in heat. Girl kitties will also mature sexually early then boy kitties.  Females have been know to  go into heat as young as 4 months.

If they are spayed/neutered there really isn't a difference that I have found between the genders.  There is also no difference in how they get along.  It's not like dogs where opposite genders are more likely to  get along.

I went through this same dilemma! I have always thought girl cats were more loving, not sure why. My boy is THE lovingest thing ever!  He is seriousl so cuddly and will let you pack him around like  a baby.,.lol..My mom's girl cat is not. She is more persnickety!

I have a 16 month old siberian boy  that was fixed when he was 3 months old. My mom has a persian that was fixed pretty much the same age.

I am glad that I went with a boy :)

I have never had a male cat spray in my house, neutered or not.  I realize others have had different experiences but it's not a given that they will.  I agree I would neuter both though I leave it as late as I can and many have not been done, the males, till around 2 years old.

In my experience strange girls are more likely to to not like each other but mine have been introduced to a new girl when they were adults.  Some got along, some didn't.  And to contradict it, one skittish male is at the mercy of all the girls because he's such a chicken.

So I guess my answer would be, try the boy if that's what you really want, and see.  On this site you will find tips for introducing them.  How old is your current little kitten girl?  The younger they both are the more likely it will work.  I homed a girl kitten to a neighbour who already had a boy kitten about the same age, they were both around 12 kweeks old.  He was a big, boisterous rough boy and she was much smaller and the most timid of the kittens I had at the same time.  It took a while, the girl hid a lot but the neighbour (a Vet, she knew what she was doing) persisted in making the little girl comfortable and now they are good friends.  Even if they are not good friends but at least don't fight I like to have at least two so they are company for each other when the rest of us are gone.

She has a three month old girl. If she's not planning to spay and neuter, she really needs to get another girl.

Obviously we'd all recommend spaying for health reasons, but that's better than endless kittens.

If you get a boy you'll need to spay your girl soon (or neuter him right away), or else you'll be up to your ears in kittens! If you don't want to spay soon, get the girl. At that age they should adjust to whatever you decide.

Both genders will spray under the right circumstances, altered or not---although altered cats rarely mark unless something is wrong. Intact cats mark to attract the opposite sex. Girls in heat urine mark just as much as a tomcat! Although it's not as smelly.

Yes, just to be clear, I think my post confused some people.  A male and female together, both need to be neutered.

When I said some of my males were not neutered till two years old I meant in reference to spraying inside, which they didn't do.  The possibility of an unwanted litter takes precedence, I agree, neuter.

I'd kinda say meet with all of them and pick based on which personality you like best. :)
(And of course if you go with the male make sure your girl is fixed first )
If you fix a male by around 6 months I don't think you usually have to worry about spraying, of course its possible but not as likely. But all kitties are different and I can't say which will be more snuggly but I will say in my case my male is aggressive and mean (he recently attacked my boyfriends grandmother in the face...) where as my female 5 month old kitten is so sweet and loves pets and snuggles. But all kitties are different. :)
