Hi there,
My female kitty, Lucipurr, is having a small but someowhat annoying issue with small leaks of urine. It's nothing drastic at all, there's no puddles or discoloration of urine. She's not obese and is overall healthy. She pees normally and all she just leaks.
I notice that this only really happens when she's sleeping/relaxing. There may be a small drip on the couch or surface of whatever she's laying on. Whenever I pick her up after she just got up I get a little drop of pee on me, nothing major.
I didn't really think anything of it until tonight I started to smell ammonia. I smelled the spot on the couch she sleep so in the most and it definitely has an ammonia smell.
I've treated that area with a cleaner, and I'm starting to realize this must be happening to her pretty often.
Is there anything I should worry about?
I worry later down the road that if she does have a slight bladder incontinence it may progress into something major.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Have you spoken to a vet about this issue?
Not yet we just noticed tonight this might be a common issue with her than we initially realized. Hoping someone on here had similar troubles or advice before we get her in.

She definitely needs to see a vet. There may be a medical issue.

My cat has the same issue. I know the post is about a year ago. But I'm hoping I could still have some advise here. :)

There are just so many different things that this could be. Looking for answers online is honestly going to be a waste of time. You should absolutely get your cat in to see your vet. He or she is the only one who can give you reliable answers.

Good luck!

My cat, Kasper, has been diagnosed with calcium oxalate crystals in his urine last Sept 30. He was discharged last Oct 10. During the hospitalization, he was catheterized twice, put on meds and special diet. From oct 10, I've been crazy and sometimes frustrated watching out for him for any signs that would bring him back to the vet. There was a time when he has bloody urine for a day or two but is able to excrete his urine out. Sometimes, I palpate his bladder and it's either empty or in normal size. Everything was okay until yesterday, whenever he wakes up from a long sleep, there is some urine leakage in the spot he's in. Or when he plays around with his sisters, I could see some urine leakage in his penis.
