What was your very first Halloween costume?


I was around two, and was dressed as a tonttu (A type of Finnish elf) went trick or treating to two houses, one of which was my grandparents

I think I've seen pictures of me when I was just under 1 year (my birthday is a few days after Halloween) dressed as a pumpkin in a pumpkin onesie and orange knit hat. The earliest costume I remember was being a Care Bear in a horrible quality store-bought costume, the only one I ever had. I know I was Tinkerbell one year in a home made costume, and that might have been earlier than the bad plastic Care Bear mask one, or maybe one year after. The first costume I helped make was a sort of medieval princess costume. I had a robe-like blue dress with a sparkly belt, and I made the cone-shaped hat with the veil, though my mother probably covered it in fabric for me. I was 6 that year, maybe.

I have never had a Halloween costume. It is not a holiday that I celebrate. I decorate for fall with pumpkins, flowers, fall wreaths etc. No witches or goblins in or around my house. :lol3:

It was definitely one of those plastic costumes.
Probably Barbie.
Which in Canada is customarily worn over a full snowsuit. So Fat Abominable Barbie.
Followed by years of pretty cool mom made costumes such as a dinosaur,a clown, a crayon, and a pizza. Wish I had some pictures of those.

I really don't remember. it would have been one of the ones back in the 70's that had the costume you put over your clothes with the plastic mask that you put on that had an elastic band that went around your head.

I don't remember exactly but I would bet it was a witch.

but Casper. At least that is the earliest that we have a picture of.

Good grief...I'm 63 years old...my family pictures were lost in a house fire a few years ago (oh, my precious sons' baby pics!  and my parents...all gone!).  To the best of my memory, I was a ghost.  This was circa 1954-55, and it was a sheet with holes cut in it for eyes.  Just like all the other little ghosts in our neighborhood!

I'm not sure if it's the first, but the earliest costume I remember was a princess riding a horse. My mom made it. I never had a store-bought costume. 

I don't remember but I was probably a witch.

I remember dressing up as a hobo a lot of years.  We would raid the rag bin in the basement for old clothes.

Oh, boy, that was long ago and far away--I don't have a clue!   

i wish i could remember even one of the Halloween costumes i wore, but i don't. 

I'm not sure if this really was my first costume, but it's the first one I remember.

My sister dressed me up as Siouxsie from Siouxsie and The Banshees. Loads of back combing and hairspray and masses of black eye liner. I went to my friend's Halloween party and everyone asked me "Who are you?" I answered. "I'm supposed to be Siouxsie, from a band my sister likes......." and they said. "Yes, we know that. But who are you really? Under the costume?"
