I have two cats and two fosters, I'm trying to make sure they're all getting what they need to be happy and healthy.
The cats: Biffs and Leeloo, roughly 11 months old. Hanna, about a year and a half, Lolita, roughly 7-8 months old.
The food:The general schedule is wet three times a day, around 20-30g per cat depending on the bowl and how pushy Lolita's feeling. I feed Sheba duet poultry varieties and I'm trying Gourmet (Fancy Feast elsewhere?) mousse and other varieties. They've turned their noses up at any of the fancy stuff I get them.
Dry gets put out throughout the day, in small bowls I keep topped up. Currently a mix between Applaws and Nutro.
They all drink water, that's not a problem at all.
They have a selection of the standard treats, typically they'll get 1-3 per day.
The problems:Biffs is too fat. He's a male and very food driven. It's too soon to say whether the change to completely grain free will make a difference. He's just getting fat. He's a big cat anyway.
Leeloo had a hairball, deposited on the sofa of course, and was a bit sick. She now doesn't want any wet food, only dry, preferably on the floor or on the tele unit. She was never massively enthusiastic about wet food anyway.
Lolita's pushy and will eat everyone's wet food pretty much out their mouths.
So how do I balance out Biffs losing weight with the need to leave out dry for the rest of them? Especially still growing Lolita. Hanna won't eat if there's any type of deliberate separation involving her, she's quite sensitive. They're all grazers not gobbles. Do I need to get Leeloo back on wet even though she shows no interest?
How do you who have multi-cat households manage?
