It really warms my heart to see our community getting together to rescue this sweet cat.
I hope she can find adopters in Houston as a long drive is always more stressful. However, if that doesn't work out and if you do find an adopter in the community here, I think getting members to help with the transport could possibly work.

And well done on screening potential adopters! That's so important, I'm really glad to see that you're aware of that. And kudos to @Alicia88  for offering to take her in and not minding going through the screening process.

Does the cat have a name, by the way?

That's completely fine with me.  Also, there's someone on facebook who says she might have some contacts in Houston who might take her.  If a home can be found for her there, it would probably be easier than getting her to me.  Whichever can be done first just so she's safe.
Thank you so much. I'm going to PM you.

I was thinking the same thing. It's so nice to see everyone helping & being supportive. That's what we do here anyway, right? :bigthumb:

I call her Bella, but her new owner can rename her if they like.

Jackson Galaxy has excellent suggestions as to introducing new cats into the family.  His program "MY CAT FROM HELL" on Animal Planet explains these, and he has videos up on YouTube as well as books including CAT DADDY.  He also has facebook and twitter accounts you could post to.

If you use the facebook searchbox and input "cat transporters", you should get a dropdown menu of these and can then look up where they pick up and transport to, etc.  Hopefully this is still the case; facebook changed my account from personal to a Page and I can no longer access this feature.  GOOD LUCK!

@Surya, you can also use facebook's searchbox and input something like "CAT RESCUES by state" which should give you a dropdown menu you can access and look up/contact rescues near you.  It is still winding down on kitten season and especially in a hot climate like that, rescues may be full.  But it's worth a try.  I know Kittico operates in TX; you might try them.  Good luck.   She's a gorgeous little cat!  Please protect her.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

If you could find out how to get her to SC, I'd her her in a heartbeat...I will gladly pay for transport.

Thank you so much for the offer MysticMama. After I discussed Alicia's offer with my friend who will screen the potential new cat parent, I decided it is better to find someone closer to the Houston area. That way if the kitty does not work out for some reason, she can help me with transportation back to Houston. I'm sure you are both awesome cat mommies and I know you would love Bella. But my gut instinct is telling me my friend is right that it is better to find someone closer to home.

I read all the posts  - you guys are fabulous. I live in Israel and my Sushi wouldn't like it.  That cat is a winner.  Gorgeous.  Obviously part Siamese one of my favorite breeds.

I hope to read she has a great home.

I have a Cat loving friend in Houston on my Facebook page. I message her to see if she would be willing to take her at least foster until a home can be found.
