I adopted this cat and I wanted to know if anyone knew what type of breed he could be? He has a flat face and not very large for being a year old. He is very friendly and very fury lol and a long hair. They told me he may have a rag doll mix in him, but he has a flat face.

Persian x Himalayan mix maybe? I don't honestly know, just going off the flat face, coat length, and coat pattern.

I am late to this thread - didn't see it before. I believe you have a pet quality Persian or a Persian mix. The eyes are round like a Persians should be, ear set is nearly correct and the face is flattish. Is his tail on the short side? It shouldn't be any longer than his back. Persians have short, cobbie bodies. It is difficult to tell his body type in the photo. He is a beautiful baby - of course I am partial to Persians!!!

Why ragdoll?  Because the coloring looks almost alike the point masque?  Whatever it is, its not true masque.  I myself took wrong on occasions. But it can easily look so on the longhaired, if they are for example smoke, and also with some other colorations.  Posiepurrs here above may explain it better - she is very knowleabl,e especielly on persians.

My guess he is a shaded tabby - giving a similar effect on the longhairs.

Nay, I agree with Posiepurs, he is a more or less purebred persian. Not top notch show quality, but good looking enough if he HAD all the papers with him, and had been shown at a Show, nobody would laugh.  He wouldnt not win any prizes, but nobody would laugh.

Me too missed this thread. Yet I do patrull and contribute here fairly often, almost every day....  Sorry.

Looks like a smoke to me, but I am not good with smoke colors. It would depend on if the undercoat is white.
