Yes, friends, it's time once again for us to gather at a meeting place and commence yet another . . .

Road trip!

Unlike previous road trips, in which we've come by to pick you up, this one requires we all meet at a designated location from which we will depart on our further adventure. Naturally, our panel of experts will assist you in getting to the meeting place.

So, pack whatever belongings you think you'll need for a long voyage spanning many time zones and climates. Then head on over to . . .

The SPAM Museum!

SPAM Museum

Yes, wonder of wonders, there is in fact a SPAM Museum; and we're all going to see it! Here is a map to help you find our initial destination:

Location of SPAM Museum

Then, after a thorough tour of the SPAM Museum's many marvels, we'll board our conveyance (It's a surprise!) and commence our road trip. Won't this be fun? You bet it will, so BE THERE!

Movin' on up!
I'm in! The SPAM Museum doesn't appear to be too far from the Mall of America. That might make for a good stop - after all, its been THREE WHOLE WEEKS, since I bought a pair of shoes!

What's our ETD? I want to plan an extra day or two for shopping. Like Cindy, I could use some new shoes. (Yeah sure, my closet is already full, but who's counting?)

All righty! Let's see.... I have GOT to take the detour up to the world's largest stack of empty oil cans. That is just a must see. So if I head north up to Wyoming and east from there.... or I can head east from here, pick up Heidi in Denver if she wants to go along and then head north on 25 and then east again.... oh decisions, decisions!

I'll meet you all at the Spam museum as soon as I figure out how to get there!

We stumbled across this place last summer on our way to up northern Wisconsin. Here we are in the lobby, in front of "Spammie". On the left are our friends from Denver who adopted 2 kittens from us last summer (they have Jake and Elwood the polydactyl), and Steve and I are on the right.

That place was incredibly funny!!

And a picture of their tribute to the "Spam, spam, spam, spam" Monty Python skit.

Egg & spam

Egg bacon & spam

Egg, bacon, sausage & spam

Spam, sausage, bacon & spam

Spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon, & spam

Spam, spam, spam, egg & spam

Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam & baked beans

Close captioned spam, spam, spam & spam

Lobster thermidor aux crevettes with a mornay sauce garnished with truffle pate, brandy and a fried egg on top & spam

Don't go buying shoes elsewhere!! I got the most lovely pair of Spam flipflops at their gift shop. They are blue and yellow, and have "SPAM" carved out in the bottom of them. When you walk on the beach or thru water, it leaves the SPAM logo everywhere you go.

You must see the movie, package your own SPAM cans, go thru the museum and don't forget their gift shop!

And the billboard of the highway is classic. The first one is an advertisement for it. The second one says "You know your curious. Visit the SPAM museum".

You want more pictures? I think I have a few more of the place filed out there!!

COOL!!!! As long as everyone's meeting in Minnesota, Snowball and I want to come too! I'll drive down on I-90 and we'll meet you all there in a second. Joe, this is a good time to come to Minnesota, the roads are dry, the snow is melting (FINALLY!!!!) and it really feels like it's almost spring here today!

P.S. Snowball and I will even be wearing our brand new matching sweatshirts just for this occassion!!!

Puerto Rico... land of rice and beans.
Hey, that place looks very nice! And like that Spammie!
When you say "Minnesota" down here it's just like saying "Siberia", but its an interesting place, it seems.

Well, folks, taking into account that it's a bit hard to go by land all the way from P.R. I will take a plane to the Minneapolis airport and get by car there. Or is it quicker from the Des Moines airport? Or Wisconsin? Decisions, decisions

I want to suggest a place for the road trip once the SPAM is done: Go south and cross the border, from there, we go by car through all the metropolises of South America (and everything in between) up to Argentina and Chile. I, knowing my way around (not that I've been a lot there, but I speak the language
) can be your guide.

Minneapolis is definitely the closest major airport. Des Moines will give you another 4-5 hour drive, and the closest airport in Wisconsin is the same. I think it was about 2-3 hours from Minneapolis.

I like your idea of a road trip to South America. Been to Panama once and loved it down there! My limited spanish: Dos Cervasa pour favour. Daquaria pina pour favour. Banyos? Aqua purificado pour favour.

Attention!

ONE MORE DAY remains before the poll closes and we begin our road trip! Those who have not already done so should immediately depart for the SPAM Museum. When you arrive at the Museum check in with our guide Momofmany for further details regarding local lodging, restaurants, et cetera.

All manner of conveyances are at our disposal for the upcoming trip. Here are shown just a few of them:

Personal conveyance available to all

Some of our modern ships

Latest coaches at our disposal

Our fleet at anchor

Latest-model motor vehicles available for those who marry during our trip

Luxurious railroad travel at our disposal

Fast transportation about town for our party

So you see, no stone has been left unturned in making this journey the trip of a lifetime! A charge of $1.00 US will be required from each participant, however, in order to cover all expenses. This fee will be collected at the end of our journey by a team of pickpockets.
