My name is Emma! I am new! My cat is called Joe, I've had him for about 2 years now. We rescued him from our local animal shelter when he was two years old, that's where he got his name and we didn't like to change it :) He was at the shelter because he was a stray, but looking at him you would never believe it! He is so handsome! I don't really now what breed or anything he is.

He really is awesome! He is so soft to cuddle and he likes to sit on your lap as you watch tv and play with hair bobbles!

The only naughty thing he does it spray. He has been done but he still does it. For this reason my parents won't let him upstairs but he has free run of the downstairs. If you have any advice about how to stop this I would be very grateful! [emoji]128512[/emoji]

What a beautiful cat! It is very hard to get them to stop spraying, most is done because of seeing/smelling other cats, like through a window, or brought in on clothes, and wanting to establish their territory. You are very understanding and patient to give him the downstairs. They also do it when stressed, like a new home, etc. but he should be over that by now. You have to get a good enzyme cat urine spray to completely remove the odor so he doesn't go back. This is found on Amazon and pet sections in stores. I would get some clear carpet runner with those little 'nubs' on the back and turn it nub side up to cover any area he consistently goes to, that should break him from going there because the nubs hurt their feet, and they won't walk on them. The runner is easy to move when company comes, just don't forget to put it back! It's also clear so not so noticeable. Try that, and reduce anything that may be bringing him stress and see how it goes, Bless you fro giving him a home, I'll pray that you get him to stop. All the luck!

Yes, he is gorgeous!! He is so lucky to have someone who loves him so much!!

This is excellent advice. Nature's Miracle is a really good brand of enzymatic cleaner. This can be found at the big box pet stores but you'll find a better price on Amazon. Good luck and thank you for taking this sweet boy in!
