I have been working on leash training my now 16 week old kitten, Juno. She is smart and seems to enjoy being outside with me! I've taken her on 5-6 'walks' outside around my college campus. It's fairly busy, so she gets exposed to people walking by, cars, and new people petting her.
The last few times she has been great, roaming away from me (still on leash), playing with sticks and leaves, and coming back to me to check in when I call her name. We always end on a good note, and I carry her back inside my dorm (which she fights, naturally.) However, the last two (brief) walks I've brought her out on have been almost worse than the first time I brought her out. She is wide eyed and shivering, and overall clearly just not enjoying herself. It very well could be because the weather has turned, and it honestly is now chilly outside. The leaves are all falling providing a lot of extra noise, and campus is more echoey, so maybe it's overstimulating.
Am I overreacting? Any tips for leash training in general? I'm also going to *attempt* to clicker train her eventually.
