I thought I'd start a new thread to let all you pet lovers know about a new documentary coming out called Pet Fooled. It exposes the  inner workings of the commercial pet food industry. I cannot wait to see it. I am in NO WAY affiliated with the film nor am I paid to promote it. I just discovered it two nights ago while I was on Facebook. You can watch the trailer here:
There was a 2007 (?) documentary called "Pet Food: A Dog's Breakfast" that was mysteriously cancelled from airing on CNBC then pulled from air altogether. It's reappeared on YouTube which is also good news.

I just watched this - it's on Netflix now. I loved the vets that advocated for the species appropriate diets. They were incredibly articulate and knowledgeable.

The film was very timely as I'm starting to become more conscious of what I'm feeding my recently adopted kitties and researching options. Definitely makes me want to seriously explore giving them raw for at least some of their meals.

Makes me so happy to hear this! Diet is so important for our fur babies, and putting in just a tiny bit more effort will help them thrive and help avoid medical ailments as they age. There are commercial raw options that make it so easy to feed raw. So glad you're exploring it!

Thanks for the encouragement! I've been weaning them off kibble and have been giving them higher quality wet but will now check out the commercial raw options. I'm fortunate to have an awesome natural pet store in my neighborhood with some great options. Now that my eyes are open to the junk (and poison, frankly) that's in regular pet food there's no going back.

I just finished watching this. Very informative and pretty scary. I'm definitely going to look into the commercial raw food. Though I've tried a few of the Stella and chewys and and primal raw.. Lily and Zoe were not interested. Right now I feed them Purina pro plan wet food and simply nourish kitten dry food. (Even though Lily is not a kitten that's all she will eat and Zoe is a kitten). There has to be better options
